Here Is My Step-by-Step Guide: How to Install a Ring Doorbell

You are going to need a few tools before you get started. No worries, this is not a major construction project.

Phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, If you have brick, stucco, or concrete, a drill is necessary with a masonry bit. A level, wire strippers, Pliers or needle-nose pliers, a tape measure, voltage tester. Not critical but a nice-to-have item.

Step 1 – Pick Your Spot:

Look for a location where the doorbell camera will capture your entire entryway but isn’t easily blocked by walls or plants.

Step 2 – Safety First

You need to remove the old doorbell if you have one, so the power needs to be turned off to be safe. Typically, at the circuit breaker. It might be labeled, but if you’re unsure, get some help.

Step 3 – Remove Old Doorbell:

Carefully unscrew the terminal screws from the old doorbell. Note the electrical wires attached to it—You will need them later.

Step 4 – Bracket:

The bracket is the Ring’s “holder.” Hold it against the wall to see where the screws will go. If your wall is hard (like brick), you might need to drill small holes and use the included wall anchors and screw holes that come with the Ring.
